KITCHEN MISADVENTURE SERIES – PALITAW SA LATIK

Last week, my daughter related to me that she and her classmates cooked this native Filipino snack as their project in T.L.E. (Technology and Livelihood Education, what used to be our Home Economics). She was among the students who played a major part in cooking the dish but when the dish was done, she was only able to eat one palitaw! She was so frustrated since she helped more than the others did and yet she only got to eat one tiny little piece…definitely not commensurate to her efforts. And so I promised her that I would buy ingredients for palitaw latik this weekend and help her re-create the said dish. Around siesta time, when she said she feels rested and can get up without feeling woozy, she helped her father in making palitaw sa latik…another favorite family dessert/snack.
