SOFITEL FOR PYROMUSICAL SHOW

It's our third year (I think) to watch the pyromusical competition at Sofitel and as per our tradition, we usually come in early afternoon on Saturday so the kids can swim a bit, watch the show over dinner inside our rented suite for the night, watch movies all night, sleep, have breakfast the next day (sometimes at Spiral, sometimes we just order in our room) and leave before noon.

But this year, it wasn't our entire family that was free...because Keith had to attend a school retreat on Saturday and a PUP entrance exam on Sunday. The hubby, on the other hand, didn't want to take Keith and his friends and wasn't so keen to sleep over at Sofitel either so he opted to stay behind and just finish doing K's cabinet.

So after cooking some food for their dinner tonight, K and I left at around 3, we took the bus and MRT but upon arrival at Taft station, no taxi wanted to take us to Sofitel coz it was traffic daw??? They'd only take us there if we shell out Php200.00! WTF!?! It was only 5:30pm! So, K and I just took the LRT to Vito Cruz and then the shuttle jeep to CCP so that one hour later and with barely Php20.00 pesos of fares, we finally reached Sofitel.

Dinner was already served for us at the room we were billeted in for the night (courtesy of Amber’s). There was the usual fried chicken, pancit palabok, lumpiang shanghai and others (I have forgotten to take pics e!) Then, as the others watched TV, I just did my cross stitch while waiting for the show to begin. Papa with Tita E, Auntie Heidi and Ate Ging had dinner at a resto downstairs. The first fireworks display began at (I think)around 7pm and for tonight we were treated to a spectacular fireworks by UK and Spain. We would have wanted to watch the show at MOA so we could hear the music that goes with the fireworks but alas the seats there aren’t free…so we had to make do with watching the show from the comfort of our room terrace at the 5th floor (Rm 547).

The show ended at around ten and we learned (from Ateng) that Papa and Tita E will not be spending the night here but at their homein Makati. So Kaye and I will be sleeping by our lonesome at the big bed in the master’s bedroom… Just too bad for Jun and Keith huh? Well, anyway, I allowed Alex to sleep with us na lang since the bed is soooo big for just the two of us! I slept at past 1 na din coz I waited for Pa and Tita E to return to the room (at past midnight na!) Well, it was OK since I was enjoying my Supersurf naman which was very fast (I guess because I was situated at a high place)

The next day, Rachel and I just freshened up before going down to buy our breakfast
from the mango tree. We had to hide our food, including the chips and drinks that we
bought from the hotel security so the bags that we brought were big ones and had
towels on top to cover it. (hehehe talk about sneaking food into a hotel!) We ate
breakfast na when we returned and after that we studied/reviewed in Science na since we both forgot to pack in Kaye’s bathing suit e… Though Kaye had topak while we
were reviewing, it wasn’t really because of the forgotten swimsuit. We took our baths na by ten and Papa and Tita E arrived at noon so we were able to leave and check out at almost 1 na.

We ate our lunch at Chickboy (coz it was much too late to have lunch at Dampa)…but it was OK since it was my first time to eat there naman e! We had their usual lechon
cebu, lechon kawali and sisig! They were all good! Yun nga lang baboy overload to the max!
