Today is Valentine’s Day and unlike most couples, we don’t usually go out on a ‘real date’. I guess this is because we do not really want to go through so much trouble lining up for our place in restaurants (because it would all be surely fully booked!) and neither do we want to be so cheesy as to walk hand-in-hand amid all the other couples out on a date that night. So we usually just eat a quiet and simple dinner at home with the kids and at times just buy a sweet cake or some ice cream for dessert. Sometime ago, the hubby used to bring me flowers but of late I told him to just buy me things that I need or want – like live plants (orchids) or books. This year, we did the same thing and just bought a cake at Red Ribbon. We went home and shared a simple dinner of chicken tinola and ate our truly luscious Tiramisu cake. Nope, the hubby did not get me flowers and neither did he buy me any gift. I guess he lacked the budget for it but the day did not pass without me receiving any flower. Of course it wasn’t from some secret admirer but from my little daughter who surprised me with a single red rose she bought from her own allowance, she is just so sweet!!! Thanks baby, you made my day complete!
