KITCHEN MISADVENTURE SERIES: CHICKEN IN SOUR CREAM
This is another recipe from CASA Veneracion…you may have noticed that I enjoy reading and following her recipes because she has a very enjoyable style of writing that makes cooking her dishes quite simple and very easy to do. I already knew that my kids like dishes with white sauces so when I saw this one that used sour cream, I figured, they may just enjoy this one too...and I was right! The kids loved it!
First, you season the chicken with some salt and pepper, then fry the potatoes and carrots in butter until slightly browned. After that, add the chicken, the onions then the sour cream. I didn't have actual sour cream but just made my own (like what Ms. Connie suggested) by adding calamansi juice to all purpose cream and since the kids would want their chicken with a bit of sauce to spoon over the rice, I added more cream to the mixture. Then, I let the dish simmer for awhile added a bit more salt and pepper and lastly a sprinkle of onion leaves (I didn't have parsley) …and that's it! Another delicious baon for my kids...thanks again, Connie!
