SHOPPING AT GREENHILLS!

It’s that time of the year once again when we brave the crowds of shoppers to shop for clothes, shoes, and other must-haves to wear for Christmas parties or even to buy gifts for loved ones. This time, I decided to take my kids to experience a shopping mecca that I used to frequent when I was still working at Camp Crame – Greenhills! The usual place for our shopping was the SM Department Store and recently, the newly built Fairview Terraces beside it but this is the first time that I took them shopping in a place outside a mall and THEY...JUST...LOVED...IT!

Well, for starters Greenhills is actually similar to a tiangge but airconditioned and so the convenience of shopping was still there. But the shops were quite numerous and the place was still as huge as I remember it to be and my kids’ eyeballs just literally popped off their sockets upon seeing the seemingly endless rows and rows of shoes and clothes! Just too bad that I didn’t have all that money to spend – just enough for them to buy some shirts n shorts for Kuya, some blouses for my girl, a pair of shoes each, a bag and some spandex sandos and jogging pants for myself and a pair of shorts for Tatay, well he isn’t here e...serves him right for going home early! The kids vowed to save some money and return to this place to buy more clothes and shoes...I would too since I haven’t even ventured into the home section of Greenhills, since God knows I would probably go crazy in there! We promised to come back next year with more money to splurge! I just wonder if we could ever make our way to Divisoria one of these days...

NEW SHOES AND NEW BAGS

For quite some time now, my daughter had been asking me to buy her new black shoes since the ones she had been using were a bit tight on her humongous feet already. And so finally, this weekend I relented. Anyway, it had been a year ago (I think) when I last bought her black shoes and at the rate she’s growing so rapidly…I think I may be forced to buy her new black shoes every year! And so after we had our lunch, (usually around 2 p.m. during weekends) we took our baths and proceeded to the nearest mall to buy her shoes. As expected, there were quite a number of shoppers still milling about, probably trying to use up all the excess money from the holiday season…like what we are doing, too. I knew for a fact that my daughter is such a choosy picker when it comes to shoes…she takes so long, sometimes even an hour just to find the right one that she wants…and so I let her choose what she wants, anyway she would be the one to wear them and it is important that she chooses what she likes otherwise, she may not wear them at all. Finally, after about a hour of heehawing she finally settled on a pair that she wants…then as we were about to pay at the cashier, we passed by the bag section (which is quite near the shoes…!) and I felt myself being pulled to the big SALE! SALE! SALE! signs that abound all over the place…oh no! There goes my budget again…but what the heck! They are on sale after all and so I just closed my eyes and swiped away…hehehe anyway, I liked the color of this bag…creamy white and it would go well with just about any outfit I may have… also it does not cost an arm and a leg – in fact, not even 1K, but it already has a free matching small bag and purse to go with it… but that doesn’t stop me from still feeling guilty, though… OK enough justification! Here’s a pic of the bag.

DIVS FOR XMAS SHOPPING!

It’s a Monday but I went on leave today to go with my mother and sister to Divisoria to help her shop for toys to giveaway for Christmas. We rode the MRT and my mom wanted to stop over at 168 to start shopping there but my sister insisted that the cheaper toys can be bought at Divisoria Mall and so we walked all the way there and true enough, Mama was able to buy so much toys to her heart’s content. Our problem now is how to bring this all home, uh-oh! Then, I was also able to buy a few knick-knacks for myself (just a few because we had been to Divs last weekend lang) like umbrellas, ring and necklace watches as gifts to pamangkins, the electronic flyswatter I failed to buy last time, and what’s more, Ma gave me her advanced Christmas gift, Angel speakers for my PC – just cool! Then, after shopping, my sister took us to this authentic Chinese resto that serves hand-pulled noodles and dumplings. It was around 2 pm already when we hauled off our asses from the restaurant and took a cab going home. We were all quite tired but happy with our purchases and the thought that we would also be making some kids very happy this Christmas.
