We left Cavite at around 4p.m. but thanks to our Aunt who knew her way in this part of the woods, we were able to reach Makati quite early at 5:30. We just helped in unloading some of my dad’s ‘camping gear’ and we got the chocolates pasalubong from my brother and we were off again this time to Cubao to spend Mother’s day with Mama. My brother decided to treat us all to dinner at Oyster Boy in Cubao and it truly was a delightful experience. I have long been a fan of eating oysters ever since our dad introduced us to them when we were young and even brought raw dirty ones that we helped him scrub clean before popping it in a grill and eating just like that - as fresh as can be - yummy!
But what I did not expect was for my kids, my daughter, included to also love oysters as much as my siblings and I do. Imagine that? She will just be turning ten next week and so it’s quite surprising that she’s pretty much into oysters too. I guess it’s the cheese that got her hooked. Well, I am so glad that there’s Oyster Boy, when we were younger, we had to wait when my dad would bring home some oysters from his trips to Cavite or Batangas but now whenever my kids would crave for it, there’s an easy go-to place right in the heart of Cubao. The place was just a bit dim for my liking, it is after all a drinking place and not really a family restaurant but hey, their oysters are great and that’s all that matters! The other food that we ate was also just as great! Here are some of the pics…

OYSTER BOY TREAT AND HEAVENLY FOOT SPA!
Yesterday, my brother and his estranged wife treated us to lunch at Oyster Boy (Cubao Rustans branch). It was my first time to eat there and I was never really a huge fan of oysters although I already tasted it as a child (since it’s my dad’s fave)…but boy oh boy the oysters they served were truly truly delish! The other dishes included in the festival plate (I think it was Ati-atihan fest and another one from Visayas DInagyang, I think) were also quite appetizing…so sorry though but we weren’t able to take any pics. I guess we were just too hungry to bother with taking any photos…besides the interiors of Oyster Boy were a bit dark so pic-taking isn’t really appropriate.
Then, after the sumptuous lunch, my brother took the kids shopping and playing video games at SM Cubao while his ex-wife treated us to a foot spa (someplace in QC near Scout area, Beijing Foot Spa, I think?). It costs around PhP500 per pax but it was oh so heavenly to have your feet and entire leg pampered and massaged while we relax or watch our preferred shows with our individual TV consoles. After an hour at the spa, we went downstairs to indulge in some cakes and coffee for dessert! Around five, we all headed home (after a brief stop at their house in Cubao to wait for my brother and the kids) to our home in the boondocks totally satiated and happy with how our day was spent.
